Tracking changes made to contracts through PCOs and Change Orders are vitally important to project owners and contractors. Projectmates provides an important tool to establish root cause analysis (RCA) of change orders. By adding globally accessible standardized reason codes, you can analyze why change orders were created. This can help reduce future change orders and potential cost overruns.
To Add/Edit Reason Codes:
- From the My Projects page, open the project you wish to update.
Helpful Hint: If this is a change you wish to make across all projects, the best recommendation is to make the updates in the "Master Project Template" for your organization.
- From inside the project, click the red gear icon on the right-hand side of the page to open Project Admin Settings.
Helpful Hint: If you don't see the red gear icon, then you do not have access to make this change. Please check with your Site Admin to get the changes made that you need.
- Under "Cost Tracking", click Contract / PCO / Change Order.
- Under Add/Edit/Delete Reason Codes, you have the option to either:
- Click the pencil icon to Edit an existing code.
- Click the + button to Add a new code.
- Click the trashcan icon to Delete a code.
- Once changes are complete, click Save in the top-right corner.
Helpful Hint: You may need to use the copy process to copy these changes from the Master template into your existing projects, just keep in mind that this will impact existing items within those modules.
