How do I clear cache and cookies?

Since internet browsers (i.e. Google Chrome) inherently hold data about frequently accessed webpage content (i.e. cache) and also content about the user's browsing experience (i.e. cookies), it is often necessary to clear both of these in order to optimize browser, and web-based software, function.


To Clear Cache & Cookies (Google Chrome)

Navigate to your Projectmates website.

  1. Press F12 on your keyboard to open the "Dev Tools" window.
  2. Go to the Application tab.
    Helpful Hint: You may have to click the >> to find it if you are using a narrow screen. 
  3. On the left-hand menu, click Storage
  4. Next to the “Clear Site Data” button, select the check box to “include third-party cookies", then click Clear Site Data
  5. Press Shift on your keyboard & Right-click the Refresh button for the browser (top left corner of the window)
  6. Select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload."
  7. Login and try again. 




To Clear Cache & Cookies (Microsoft Edge)

Navigate to your Projectmates website.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data and click Choose what to clear
    Helpful Hint: Or copy/paste this URL into your browser to access the page - edge://settings/clearbrowserdata
  2. Select a Time range (ex. Last 7 days)
  3. Select Cookies and other site data.
  4. Select Cached images and files.
  5. Click Clear now.



To Clear Cache & Cookies (Firefox)

Navigate to your Projectmates website.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data and click Clear Data
    Helpful Hint: Or copy/paste this URL into your browser to access the page - about:preferences#privacy
  2. Select When (ex. Since 12:00 AM)
  3. Select Cookies and site data.
  4. Select Temporary cached files and pages.
  5. Click Clear.
