How do I manage the Submittal Register?

What is a Submittal Register?

  • The submittal register is a list of the submittals required or desired to be provided for a particular project.
  • A submittal register item includes the CSI number, description, submittal type, and due date. Optionally, it can also specify the responsible party for sending notifications and for including the task in the Ball in Court task list.
Helpful Hint: Most of the time, the Contractor is responsible for submitting submittals; however, your organization can choose any role to perform this task.
  • The submittal register facilitates creating and tracking submittals by keeping a list of the required submittals and showing the status of the submittals in the list. Users can even select to submit a particular item by clicking a link in the register itself.

How can I add a submittal register?

Option 1: Creating a register item within the UI

  1. From inside the project, click into the submittal thread where you wish to add a register.
  2. Click Register Log on the top right-hand side.
  3. To add a register item, click on the "+ Register Item" button.
Helpful Hint: If you do not see the "+ Register Item" button, then you do not have access to make this action. Please check with your Administrator to get the access rights that you need.
  4. On the pop screen, fill out the required fields (indicated by a red asterisk *) and other information as necessary.
  5. Hit the Save button to add the register item.

Option 2: Add multiple register items through the import function

  1. From inside the project, click into the submittal thread where you wish to add a register.
  2. Click Register Log on the top right-hand side.
  3. Click More > Import/Export and download the template.
  4. Open up the template and fill out the fields for each register item as needed.
Helpful Hint: The columns in blue are required fields and need to be filled out in order to successfully import.
  5. Once the template is filled out and ready for import, return to the same page where you downloaded the template.
  6. Select your file and hit the Import button.
Helpful Note: Selecting the checkbox to delete existing items will remove all current items. Leaving the box unchecked will add any additional register items from the template that haven't been added yet.
